Most questions about All 22 Football come down to the same handful of things: what the game actually is, which 22 jobs you are filling, how the season gets scored, and where your roster lives after you close the tab. The answers below cover all of it. Start with the questions most people ask first, then follow the links if you want the deeper guides.

The 22 starting jobs, at a glance
Every board has the same 22 slots, split evenly between offense and defense. Knowing which job is which matters, because the grading formula is not transferable — a player who dominates one slot can be a wasted pick in another.
How the season gets scored
Step 1
Grades become team strength
Each filled slot returns a position grade. The simulator folds those grades into a single offensive rating and a single defensive rating for your board.
Step 2
A real 17-game schedule is drawn
Your team is matched against opponents of varying strength across a full season, so a weak schedule alone will not carry a thin roster to a perfect record.
Step 3
Game-day variance decides the close ones
Each week adds a small random swing on top of the ratings. That is why two identical boards can finish 16-1 and 14-3, and why the 17-0 chase never feels scripted.
A perfect season is a balance problem, not a star-power problem. Boards that finish 17-0 almost always spend their best grades on the quarterback, both lines and the secondary rather than stacking one position. If a run keeps stalling, the guide to going 17-0 breaks down the construction rules.
Where your roster and your data live
Your saved board never leaves your device unless you choose to publish it. Local storage holds the roster so it is still there when you come back; publishing adds only the 22 names and the record to the public wall, with no account and no email. If you want the full picture of what is and is not collected, the privacy policy spells it out, and data questions can be sent to the team by email.
- Saved rosters stay in your browser's local storage — clearing site data removes them.
- Publishing a lineup shows the roster and final record only, never a name or contact detail.
- Analytics are anonymous and IP-anonymised; there is no ad tracking.
- Questions about your data go to contact@all22football.com and are answered by a person.
What is All 22 Football?
All 22 Football is a free browser game in which you build a complete American football roster of 22 starters out of the full 1,025-entry National Dex, then simulate a 17-game season and chase a 17-0 record. The name comes from coaching: the all-22 is the film angle that shows all 22 players on the field at once, which is exactly the view your roster board gives you.
How do I play All 22 Football?
Open the roster builder and tap any position to select it, then choose a player from the searchable pool on the right. The board grades the slot the moment a player lands in it. When all 22 jobs are filled, press Simulate the season to run a 17-game schedule and read your record week by week. There is no sign-up and nothing to download.
What are the 22 positions?
Eleven on offense and eleven on defense. Offense: quarterback, running back, two wide receivers, tight end, left tackle, left guard, centre, right guard, right tackle and kicker. Defense: left end, two defensive tackles, right end, left outside linebacker, middle linebacker, right outside linebacker, two cornerbacks, free safety and strong safety. Each one runs its own grading formula.
How many Pokémon can I draft from?
Every entry in the National Dex from Bulbasaur through the ninth generation is draftable — 1,025 Pokémon in total. Each one carries real base stats for HP, attack, defense, special attack, special defense and speed, plus typing, height and weight, and those numbers feed the position grades. No roster is ever limited to a single generation unless you filter for one.
Do generations matter when I draft?
Only if you want them to. A generation filter lets you build a themed team from a single era, which is popular for Gen 1 challenges and for speed-only drafts. In open play, mixing generations almost always produces better records because you can match the right body type and stat line to every position instead of forcing one era's pool to cover all 22 jobs.
How does the season simulation work?
The simulator converts your 22 filled slots into offensive and defensive strength ratings, builds a 17-game schedule with a strength-of-schedule curve, then scores each week from those ratings plus a small amount of game-day variance. The result is a win-loss record with per-week scores. Because of the variance, the same 22 players will not always produce the same record.
Can I save my roster?
Yes. Your board is saved automatically in your own browser's local storage, so closing the tab or refreshing the page keeps the roster intact. Nothing is uploaded to a server and no account is required. You can keep more than one saved layout by returning to a board you want and rebuilding on top of it, and you can clear your data at any time from your browser settings.
Can I share my lineup with other people?
When a board is finished you can publish it to the shared lineup wall as a card showing the 22 names and the final record, and you can export a share image to post on social media or in a group chat. Publishing is optional and one-directional: it displays the roster and record only, and it never asks for a name, email or account.
Is All 22 Football really free?
Yes. The builder, the snake draft, the daily challenge and the season simulator are all free with no paywall, no premium tier and no in-game currency. The project is supported by display of a small amount of anonymous analytics and by being a fan project rather than a commercial product, so there is nothing to buy anywhere on the site.
What devices and browsers does it support?
All 22 Football runs in any modern browser: current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on desktop, and the same browsers on iOS and Android phones and tablets. The board is touch-friendly and responsive, so it works on a phone as well as a laptop. Because everything runs in the browser, JavaScript needs to be enabled; there is no app to install.
Do I need an account or an email address?
No. There is no login, no password and no email required at any point. The game stores your roster locally on your device, and publishing a lineup to the wall does not create an account. If you ever want to contact the team, you can email contact@all22football.com, but that is entirely optional and separate from playing.
What data does All 22 Football collect?
Anonymous usage analytics only, through Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation and a self-hosted Plausible instance. There is no advertising tracker, no cross-site profile and no personal record tied to your name. Your saved roster stays in your browser. The full detail, including how to request deletion, is written plainly in the privacy policy.
How are individual players graded?
Each position reads a weighted blend of base stats, body type and typing. A quarterback is judged mostly on special attack with speed and decision-making as tie-breakers, while an offensive lineman is read for mass and balance and an edge rusher for attack, weight and speed. The same Pokémon can grade as elite at one slot and unplayable at another, which is the whole point.
Is this an official Pokémon or NFL product?
No. All 22 Football is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc., The Pokémon Company, or the National Football League. It uses publicly documented species attributes to build a free strategy game and claims no ownership of any trademark or character.
