How to use the all-22 roster builder

  1. Tap any slot on the board to select that position. Empty slots glow; filled slots show the current starter and grade.
  2. Search or scroll the player pool on the right. The pool is sorted by fit for the position you selected, so the best available bodies are at the top.
  3. Drop a player in and watch the scoreboard. Offense and defense grades update instantly, and the filled counter tracks how many of the 22 jobs are done.
  4. Use the generation filter to lock a theme — Gen 1 for the original 151, or all generations for the strongest possible board.
  5. Press Simulate the season when all 22 slots are green. You will get a 17-game record, the week-by-week results, and a share card.

The 22 starting positions

Offense11QB, RB, WR1, WR2, TE, LT, LG, C, RG, RT, K
Defense11LE, DT1, DT2, RE, LOLB, MLB, ROLB, CB1, CB2, FS, SS

That is the same structure broadcast crews use when they break down a team: 11 on offense, 11 on defense, and no hidden extra jobs — if a slot is on the board it is graded, and if it is not on the board it does not exist.

Why grades beat big names

The builder hands out grades on fit, not fame. A legendary special attacker with a 40 kg frame is a nightmare in the slot and a serious liability at left guard, because mass and balance decide the interior. Conversely, an unglamorous 200 kg body that nobody drafts early is an elite nose tackle. If your board is full of highlights and still losing, the grade column is the reason — one of your 22 jobs is being played by the wrong body.

Save, share and compare

Finished boards are exportable as lineup cards: 22 names in position order, your offensive and defensive grades, and your final record. Post it, send it to a friend, or keep it as the baseline your next board has to beat. Published boards show up in the community wall on the home page.

All 22 roster builder FAQ

How many players do I need for an all-22 roster?

Twenty-two starters: 11 on offense (quarterback, running back, two receivers, tight end, five offensive linemen and a kicker) and 11 on defense (four defensive linemen, three linebackers and four defensive backs). There is no separate returner slot: kick and punt return speed lives in the receiver and cornerback jobs, exactly as it does on a real depth chart.

Does the builder grade players automatically?

Yes. Every time you drop a player into a slot the board recalculates that position grade from the player's base stats, typing, height and weight. Grades are live, so you can see immediately whether a swap improves your offense, your defense, or both.

Can I save more than one roster?

Yes — you can keep a saved board for each generation you want to try. Rosters are stored in your own browser, so nothing is uploaded and you do not need an account to keep playing.

What happens when I simulate the season?

The simulator builds a 17-game schedule, scores each matchup from your offensive and defensive grades plus a small game-day variance, and returns a record with week-by-week results. Two boards with the same 22 players will not always produce the same record, which is why the 17-0 chase stays interesting.
